One of the arts that I create is working with mixed media. I start with my base of wood, resin, metal or 3D printed material created in the shape of an animal or another design. I apply thin layers of a sticky wax (a special wax mixed with a resin) which molds to the form. I then start the very slow process of attaching tiny glass beads using a tiny needle awl, one bead at a time, in my design and colors. The wax holds the beads in place while I work on the design. After I am finished adding the beads, I clean the surface of any waxy residue. The final touch is to seal the beads on the figure. I sign the figures on the base or back.

Beads in aqua, teal, ivory and accents of brilliant gold make this butterfly an elegant figurine. 

The figure is made of a substantial 3D printed material in a light gold. It measures 7 inches in width at the top, 5.5 inches in height and about 1.5 inches in depth at the bottom. This figure adds a lovely display on a table or shelf.
