Burano, Italy, offers an wonderland of color for artists. This picturesque island off Venice has houses in almost every shade from pastel to vivid tones. I loved visiting Burano and I create my scenes using photographs and imagination. My style is Whimsical Realism; it's fun, full of color and while my subjects are clear, I don't recreate a photograph. Look at the details, the mix of colors and enjoy! My Italian island-scapes are painted in acrylics on stretched canvas, and they are ready to hang, without frames. All my paintings are finished with a UV protective varnish; the canvas edges are painted white, which projects the color explosion in each painting.
